COCOON MEDICAL SPA, UBUD

Of all places, I heard about cocoon through the Ubud Food Festival! Kiddy corner to the Jalan Hanoman/Monkey forest road junction, it is very accessible by foot.

I checked out their treatments online and felt a bit lost until I found the 15 minute free doctors consultation option.  I opted for that, plus a 1 hour block of time for any suggested treatments. Upon arrival I was lead to the gorgeous rice field picture window where I was given a large mug of ginger tea while I filled out my health forms. The room was so modern it caught me by surprise being in little dusty Ubud. However, being so clean and modern, the space put me at ease about the more invasive procedures offered here.

After a bit of a wacocooit I had a quick consultation, I decided i’d like a diamond dermabrasion and a blue light therapy. Both were included in a package along with a gold mask and moisturizer at an even lower cost than  doing them individually so I opted for the Cleopatra 1 package.

I was lead to a different room where the nurse had me lay down with a cozy blanket. She cleansed my skin twice then went straight into the microderm. I have never had one and it caught me by surprise. A skratchy mini vacuum is how I would describe it. She went over my face twice and then sealed it with a moisturizer and a cold wand to close the pores.

Next we did the blue light which has antibacterial properties which was placed over my face and covered eyes for 20 minutes while I was left with my thoughts. It didn’t feel like much but I suppose that’s better than stinging.IMG_3683

Next she showed me my bright gold gelly face mask which she peeled out of the package and placed over my face. I think they are more for a smaller faces as the nose and lip holes didn’t lineup with my face at all. It was a strange texture but nice and refreshing. I wish I hadn’t taken a picture of myself because the look was ridiculous.

maskFinally a quick moisturizer and sunscreen (Very important) and I was off. Total procedure time was about 1.5 hours.
