So you’re in Brisy for the day, maybe on a layover, what to do? I personally did a 13 hour Brisbane layover day to night so lets see what we can actually accomplish in one day shall we?

First stop: Well coffee obviously. This one is in a converted old bunker. How neat.

Second: Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. It’s about 1.5 hours by public transport from the airport FYI. LP opens at 9am, try to get there early. What can you do here? LP holds ALL the aussie must sees! Hold a koala, feed a ‘roo, pet an emu , watch sheep dogs in action, the works. Spend a few hours here. Maybe bring a picnic and enjoy some genuine and iconic Australian madness.

Next stop: Southbank, Did you bring your swimmers and sunscreen? If it’s hot out head to this man made beach in the middle of the city. If it’s chilly, no worries, there’s so much to explore around this area and the walks are divine. Around you you have the Queensland museum, tons of restaurants, The wheel of Brisbane and the city walk. That should keep you occupied for a few hours.

Not tired yet? Head to ‘The Valley’ for dinner. Walk into any restaurant and you’ll be set. Want a panoramic night view, check out the rooftop at The Apo for dinner. Don’t forget your party shoes because you’re in the nightclub district.

Now go catch that flight!
