A casual no frills restaurant with a giant menu and fairly high prices. They have a liquor license and free wifi. Food was pretty good here. Great views but zero charm. $20 for coffee and breakfast.
The Blue room / Into the blue
This little place is overflowing with charm. Rated the best coffee on the island, the wait during holidays can be long but it’s worth it. Food is good here and constantly changing. Best food in the AM at the point. Great view on the patio but space is limited so get here early. $20 for coffee and breakfast.
A fine dining Italian restaurant on the island. Great for parties and special occasions. Prices reflect the excellent food here. Rated best food in the PM at point lookout. Dinner $75 per person with wine and dessert.
Coffee at cylinders
An adorable coffee cart creation by owner Micheal. This is the second best place to get coffee on the island. Located at cylinder beach it is only open weekends (off peak season). Check out the groovy coffee cups with local indigenous artwork. Coffee: $4.50 -$5
Fish and chips
Great fish and chips, try the chicken salted fries. The menu is a bit tough to decipher if you just want some fish and chips just tell them what your looking for and they can point you in the right direction. Fish and chips $12-$15 +$2.50 for sauce + .50 EFTPOS charge
If you’re looking for American food on straddie this is the place to be. Burgers, philly cheesesteaks, fries etc. All fairly good! Around $15 for a burger.
At a higher price point than fish and chips they also offer a variety of other foods including American ribs, salads etc. Take away and eat in. around $20 for fish and chips. Licensed for beer and wine, all tables outdoors.
The only place on the island to get fresh juices. Only on weekends (off peak).
The Gelato truck wanders around the beaches you’ll know it’s out when you hear the bell. They have store bought gelato which is pretty good. I got mine at cylinder beach for around $4.50 for a cone.
With the same owners as the Blue and Green rooms you can expect tons of charm and great gelato here. They don’t disappoint with house made gelato in a variety of flavours. I crumbled for macadamia, an unusual flavour for me coming from Canada. Amazing. Around $4.50 for a cone.
Family friendly. Make reso or it’s serve yourself. Food here is adequate but the atmosphere is hectic. Come during sunset.
Fruit Barn in Dunwich
A small produce store and cafe with meat and vegetarian/vegan options. Decent prices. Organization here is sloppy and my food has been missed a few times.
Thai in Dunwich
Probably the most adventurous food on the island. Head here to shake things up.
